अघोरी एवं अघोर साधना : 

शैव संप्रदाय में साधना की एक रहस्यमयी शाखा है अघोरपंथ। अघोरी की कल्पना की जाए तो श्मशान में तंत्र क्रिया करने वाले किसी ऐसे साधु की तस्वीर जेहन में उभरती है जिसकी वेशभूषा डरावनी होती है। अघोरियों के वेश में कोई ढोंगी आपको ठग सकता है लेकिन अघोरियों की पहचान यही है कि वे किसी से कुछ मांगते नहीं है और बड़ी बात यह कि तब ही संसार में दिखाई देते हैं जबकि वे पहले से नियुक्त श्मशान जा रहे हो या वहां से निकल रहे हों। दूसरा वे कुंभ में नजर आते हैं।

अघोरी को कुछ लोग ओघड़ भी कहते हैं। अघोरियों को डरावना या खतरनाक साधु समझा जाता है लेकिन अघोर का अर्थ है अ+घोर यानी जो घोर नहीं हो, डरावना नहीं हो, जो सरल हो, जिसमें कोई भेदभाव नहीं हो। कहते हैं कि सरल बनना बड़ा ही कठिन होता है।

सरल बनने के लिए ही अघोरी कठिन रास्ता अपनाते हैं। साधना पूर्ण होने के बाद अघोरी हमेशा- हमेशा के लिए हिमालय में लीन हो जाता है।

जिनसे समाज घृणा करता है अघोरी उन्हें अपनाता है। लोग श्मशान, लाश, मुर्दे के मांस व कफन आदि से घृणा करते हैं लेकिन अघोर इन्हें अपनाता है। अघोर विद्या व्यक्ति को ऐसा बनाती है जिसमें वह अपने-पराए का भाव भूलकर हर व्यक्ति को समान रूप से चाहता है, उसके भले के लिए अपनी विद्या का प्रयोग करता है।

अघोर विद्या सबसे कठिन लेकिन तत्काल फलित होने वाली विद्या है। साधना के पूर्व मोह-माया का त्याग जरूरी है। मूलत: अघोरी उसे कहते हैं जिसके भीतर से अच्छे-बुरे, सुगंध-दुर्गंध, प्रेम-नफरत, ईर्ष्या-मोह जैसे सारे भाव मिट जाएं। सभी तरह के वैराग्य को प्राप्त करने के लिए ये साधु श्मशान में कुछ दिन गुजारने के बाद पुन: हिमालय या जंगल में चले जाते हैं।

अघोरी खाने-पीने में किसी तरह का कोई परहेज नहीं नहीं करता। रोटी मिले तो रोटी खा लें, खीर मिले खीर खा लें, बकरा मिले तो बकरा और मानव शव मिले तो उससे भी परहेज नहीं। यह तो ठीक है अघोरी सड़ते पशु का मांस भी बिना किसी हिचकिचाहट के खा लेता है। अघोरी लोग गाय का मांस छोड़कर बाकी सभी चीजों का भक्षण करते हैं। मानव मल से लेकर मुर्दे का मांस तक।

घोरपंथ में श्मशान साधना का विशेष महत्व है। अघोरी जानना चाहता है कि मौत क्या होती है और वैराग्य क्या होता है। आत्मा मरने के बाद कहां चली जाती है? क्या आत्मा से बात की जा सकती है? ऐसे ढेर सारे प्रश्न है जिसके कारण अघोरी श्मशान में वास करना पसंद करते हैं। मान्यता है कि श्मशान में साधना करना शीघ्र ही फलदायक होता है। श्मशान में साधारण मानव जाता ही नहीं, इसीलिए साधना में विघ्न पड़ने का कोई प्रश्न नहीं।

अघोरी मानते हैं कि जो लोग दुनियादारी और गलत कामों के लिए तंत्र साधना करते हैं अंत में उनका अहित ही होता है। श्मशान में तो शिव का वास है उनकी उपासना हमें मोक्ष की ओर ले जाती है।

अघोरी श्मशान में कौन-सी साधना करते हैं...अघोरी श्मशान घाट में तीन तरह से साधना करते हैं- श्मशान साधना, शव साधना और शिव साधना।

शव साधना : मान्यता है कि इस साधना को करने के बाद मुर्दा बोल उठता है और आपकी इच्छाएं पूरी करता है

शिव साधना में शव के ऊपर पैर रखकर खड़े रहकर साधना की जाती है। बाकी तरीके शव साधना की ही तरह होते हैं। इस साधना का मूल शिव की छाती पर पार्वती द्वारा रखा हुआ पांव है। ऐसी साधनाओं में मुर्दे को प्रसाद के रूप में मांस और मदिरा चढ़ाया जाता है।

शव और शिव साधना के अतिरिक्त तीसरी साधना होती है श्मशान साधना, जिसमें आम परिवारजनों को भी शामिल किया जा सकता है। इस साधना में मुर्दे की जगह शवपीठ की पूजा की जाती है। उस पर गंगा जल चढ़ाया जाता है। यहां प्रसाद के रूप में भी मांस-मंदिरा की जगह मावा चढ़ाया जाता है।

भूत-पिशाचों से बचने के लिए क्या करते हैं अघोरी...

अघोरियों के पास भूतों से बचने के लिए एक खास मंत्र रहता है। साधना के पूर्व अघोरी अगरबत्ती, धूप लगाकर दीपदान करता है और फिर उस मंत्र को जपते हुए वह चिता के और अपने चारों ओर लकीर खींच देता है। फिर तुतई बजाना शुरू करता है और साधना शुरू हो जाती है। ऐसा करके अघोरी अन्य प्रेत-पिशाचों को चिता की आत्मा और खुद को अपनी साधना में विघ्न डालने से रोकता है।

क्यों जिद्दी और गुस्सैल होते हैं अघोरी...
अघोरियों के बारे में मान्यता है कि वे बड़े ही जिद्दी होते हैं। अगर किसी से कुछ मांगेंगे, तो लेकर ही जाएंगे। क्रोधित हो जाएंगे तो अपना तांडव दिखाएंगे या भला-बुरा कहकर उसे शाप देकर चले जाएंगे। एक अघोरी बाबा की आंखें लाल सुर्ख होती हैं लेकिन अघोरी की आंखों में जितना क्रोध दिखाई देता हैं बातों में उतनी ही शीतलता होती है।

अघोरी की वेशभूषा...
कफन के काले वस्त्रों में लिपटे अघोरी बाबा के गले में धातु की बनी नरमुंड की माला लटकी होती है। नरमुंड न हो तो वे प्रतीक रूप में उसी तरह की माला पहनते हैं। हाथ में चिमटा, कमंडल, कान में कुंडल, कमर में कमरबंध और पूरे शरीर पर राख मलकर रहते हैं ये साधु। ये साधु अपने गले में काली ऊन का एक जनेऊ रखते हैं जिसे 'सिले' कहते हैं। गले में एक सींग की नादी रखते हैं। इन दोनों को 'सींगी सेली' कहते है।

अघोरपंथ तांत्रिकों के तीर्थस्थल...
अघोरपंथ के लोग चार स्थानों पर ही श्मशान साधना करते हैं। चार स्थानों के अलावा वे शक्तिपीठों, बगलामुखी, काली और भैरव के मुख्य स्थानों के पास के श्मशान में साधना करते हैं। यदि आपको पता चले कि इन स्थानों को छोड़कर अन्य स्थानों पर भी अघोरी साधना करते हैं तो यह कहना होगा कि वे अन्य श्मशान में साधना नहीं करते बल्कि यात्रा प्रवास के दौरान वे वहां विश्राम करने रुकते होंगे या फिर वे ढोंगी होंगे।

तीन प्रमुख स्थान :

1. तारापीठ का श्मशान : कोलकाता से 180 किलोमीटर दूर स्थित तारापीठ धाम की खासियत यहां का महाश्मशान है। वीरभूम की तारापीठ (शक्तिपीठ) अघोर तांत्रिकों का तीर्थ है। यहां आपको हजारों की संख्या में अघोर तांत्रिक मिल जाएंगे। तंत्र साधना के लिए जानी-मानी जगह है तारापीठ, जहां की आराधना पीठ के निकट स्थित श्मशान में हवन किए बगैर पूरी नहीं मानी जाती। कालीघाट को तांत्रिकों का गढ़ माना जाता है।

2. कामाख्या पीठ के श्मशान : कामाख्या पीठ भारत का प्रसिद्ध शक्तिपीठ है, जो असम प्रदेश में है। कामाख्या देवी का मंदिर गुवाहाटी रेलवे स्टेशन से 10 किलोमीटर दूर नीलांचल पर्वत पर स्थित है। प्राचीनकाल से सतयुगीन तीर्थ कामाख्या वर्तमान में तंत्र-सिद्धि का सर्वोच्च स्थल है। कालिका पुराण तथा देवीपुराण में 'कामाख्या शक्तिपीठ' को सर्वोत्तम कहा गया है और यह भी तांत्रिकों का गढ़ है।

3. रजरप्पा का श्मशान : रजरप्पा में छिन्नमस्ता देवी का स्थान है। रजरप्पा की छिन्नमस्ता को 52 शक्तिपीठों में शुमार किया जाता है लेकिन जानकारों के अनुसार छिन्नमस्ता 10 महाविद्याओं में एक हैं। उनमें 5 तांत्रिक और 5 वैष्णवी हैं। तांत्रिक महाविद्याओं में कामरूप कामाख्या की षोडशी और तारापीठ की तारा के बाद इनका स्थान आता है।

4. चक्रतीर्थ का श्मशान : मध्यप्रदेश के उज्जैन में चक्रतीर्थ नामक स्थान और गढ़कालिका का स्थान तांत्रिकों का गढ़ माना जाता है। उज्जैन में काल भैरव और विक्रांत भैरव भी तांत्रिकों का मुख्य स्थान माना जाता है।
